The House

We found a very special house, sequestered behind an apple grove in Corralitos, CA....

The house is simple and not too ornate; it's a comfortably sized home on a comfortably sized property. It is very important to the film that the surrounding area of the house is in a location that is rich in vegetation (juxtaposed with the desolation of the desert camps). At the point of their return, the family finds the house in disrepair; it has been neglected, squatted in and vandalized. The home is a critical element of the film and essentially a character in and of itself. Below, are the various reference photographs that are inspiring the interior and exterior production design.
